Everything she had studied over the years about parenting and making a marriage work seemed now like so much sawdust. Nothing was working. Like an old dead battery, she felt useless and disgusting. Then suddenly she got a jump start.

Launching a comprehensive recycling program in 1971 energized Joan Huguenard and started her on a never-ending path of growth. This mother of 8 slowly discovered untapped resources and hidden talents. Joan’s spirituality blossomed when she met a mentor who challenged her into critical thinking about herself and her faith. She knew exhilaration and despair, gaining continued success in the outside world while her marriage could not survive.

One day Joan perceived a spiritual “call” to a traveling ministry. Throughout the next 7 years in her various efforts to follow the call she never suspected that her willingness to say “yes” would take her to the other side of the world.
